A few weeks ago I applied for a slot on a short list of paleo bloggers to compete in a paleo recipe competition sponsored by SousVide Supreme and TX Bar Organics Beef. I will be provided a SousVide supreme on loan as well as a vacuum sealer to keep (awesome!) and a small supply of steaks from TX Bar Organics. Even though I had never used a SousVide before, I managed to convince them to put me on that list of competitors. The competition is stacked and I’m really excited to not only learn a new cooking technique but also challenge myself to win.
The Final Twelve:
- Simply Paleo
- FreeRange Human
- Health Bent
- Paleo Comfort Foods
- Clothes That Make the Girl
- Food Lovers Kitchen
- Pure Fresh Daily
- Rubies & Radishes
- Clean Eats in the Zoo
- Cooking Caveman
- Primal Smoke
I’m beyond excited and even honored to be in a cooking competition with such heavy hitters so I’m definitely going to have to step up. I already have a few ideas that I can’t wait to try out. The guidelines of the competition are: I have to use the SousVide for a paleo beef recipe using meat from TX Bar Organics. Now that I’ve been selected, I’ll have a month to play with the SousVide and on January 17th, I’ll submit my best recipe.
- Dr’s Mary and Michael Eades, authors of several nutrition and weight loss books including Protein Power and co-founders of the SousVide Supreme
- Travis Martinez, owner of TX Bar Organics a family owned grassfed, grass finished ranch in northern California
- Michelle Tam, author of the wildly popular paleo blog Nom Nom Paleo. Michelle has been blogging about her SousVide for a long time so I’m glad she’s judging and not competing.
